Phone Scammers

Recently I had been online and had chosen to purchase something that sounded interesting.

But for some reason, the payment failed to go through, which left me expecting a phone call from my bank to question if I had intended to buy or if I had been scammed

Just at that moment, the phone rang and a recorded message said my card had been used to make two payments of a large amount

Then instructed me to “Press One to speak to an advisor” Fortunately I was not asked for the full card details and at some point in the conversation I was told they would close my account and set up a new one.

But when I was told that I needed to go to my bank and make a withdrawal I realised this was a scam and ended the call

As if my bank account had just been closed there would be no way to withdraw money

Feeling a little foolish for even falling for the “Speak to one of our advisors” ploy

I felt it my duty to warn my readers to beware of this scam and provide details

I found the phone number on my phone display and used “who called me” with these results

 020 3996 4044 is a landline number that has been identified as a credit card scam, located in London (UK)

 The summary of detected keywords found in the reports is as follows: scam (4 times), credit card (2 times),

 credit (2 times), bank (1 time), recorded message (1 time)

Why Bother Learning skills?

With any skill, you can provide value which can in turn lead to others paying you money

It is advisable to choose just one new skill and acquire all the knowledge to become an expert in that subject before moving on to a new subject

Amazon Associates – This is an affiliate program in itself as opposed to a network, but the reason I listed it is that it’s so huge. By joining the Amazon affiliate program (named Amazon Associates) you have the ability to promote nearly enough all products through the whole Amazon network, which can be an amazing opportunity depending on your niche.

 Amazon cookie only lasts 24 hours unlike 30 days with other programs. This means that your prospect will need to make a purchase within 24 hours of clicking your link for you to be credited a commission for the sale.

 Far too many gurus make full use of sales funnels

You know the kind of page where you are presented with an intriguing offer that sounds easy and to make it more tempting the price is so low they are practically giving it away

The price is set somewhere about $7 to $17 on average, and quite often there is a “Wait Don’t Go” dropdown annulment to drag you back into the funnel

Since the price is so low for all you are getting you will tend to buy whatever it is, only to have a “One time offer” pop up

I don’t know about you but I am fed up with those kinds of funnels, which led me to think of alternative marketing tools

I started by looking at all the tools that were used before funnels were invented

 One of the oldest methods was the “Mail Order” system which involved buying a mailing list and creating a one-page sales copy

With a name & address space at the bottom for those who want more information

In this high-tech world, this might surprise you that some marketers still use the “Mail Order” system with a slight variation of including a hyperlink to type into a browser

Since I still receive this kind of “Mail Order” letter I guess this system still works

If I considered using the “Mail Order” system, it would need updating with modern-day technology.
